What does trisomy testing miss?

Trisomy screening looks for extra chromosomes, including trisomy 13, 18, and 21. It does not screen the single-gene mutations linked to recurrent pregnancy loss. If you are reviewing a result or planning another pregnancy, look at the next genetic layer.
